Color Me Black & White
10.11.12

There are times when fear is good. It must keep its watchful place at the heart’s controls.

~~ Aeschylus, first of three Ancient Greek Tragedian and often described as the Father of Tragedy, 525/524 BC – 456/455 BC

.

Keep your fears to yourself but share your courage with others.

~~ Robert Louis Stevenson, Scottish Novelist, Poet, Essayist, and Travel Writer, 1850 - 1894

Hey everybody! I am so excited! It's October so that means SNOW is just around the corner!

Porgy, look around. In a month or two all this will be covered in a beautiful white snowy blanket. Bliss.

*yawn. Time to go dream of my snowy heaven! See ya' later Porgy.

*dreamy snooze...

aiiieeeeeeeeee!

ack! ack!

~~ MOMENT OF BEAUTY ~~

Luca Signorelli, Damned Cast Into Hell, fresco, circa 1499-1502 (Orvieto Cathedral, Chapel of the Madonna di San Brizio, Piazza Duomo, Orvieto, Italy)

Albrecht Dürer, Knight, Death and the Devil {Ritter, Tod und Teufel}, copper engraving, circa 1513 (Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, The Netherlands)

Back to me...

*shivers

What just happened?

Hey...where did all my color go?

I know who did this. The Halloween ghosties, ghoulies, and goblins.

Curses! Give me back my color!

Every October the Halloween ghosties, ghoulies, and goblins mess with me. I never know what to expect from them but taking my color is a low blow. I feel so two-dimensional without my color. They say when you are really afraid all the color drains out of you. Since I have no more color I guess I will just drain away to nothing. I'm just sayin'...

Suka, we too think you still look lovely in black and white - your natural beauty cannot be filtered out, even if the colours can.
Oh, and did you know, one of Gail's friends spotted some new snow on top of Scottish hill earlier this week. Winter is definitely on its way here too.

Hi Suka,
Thanks for stopping by to see me. Its been a while since I've seen you too (sorry 'bout that!).

I actually don't mind the snow too much. In fact I like running in the deep snow instead of walking on the shovelled off areas. Now Muffin, forget it. She hates the snow.

I'm sure it will be snowing shortly for you. I have a cousin named Pluto (but she's a girl). She is an beautiful Husky that loves the snow also. She is looking forward to lots of snow this year.

Glad to see you're doing well!

Hugs,
Lily Belle

How do you do it with Porgy? Do you just cut his feathers?

I remember my mom would do that to the duckies so that they won't fly. They have a very big pond to live in but she makes sure they don't fly over the fences.

Huggies and Cheese,

Haopee

Suka! I'm sure you are looking forward to the snow! I'm so glad it doesn't snow here! I think I would die! I start shivering when my people open the window in the morning. Rumor has it that my mom was a Chihuahua. I wouldn't be too shocked.

I know how you feel about the ghoulies taking away your color! Every so often my alter-ego, "Green Alfie" takes over. I'm glad he hasn't stopped by lately.

Hope you have a wonderful Hallowoof!
