Barking on elderly dogs, I have a super update on the elderly black-lab mix that showed up at my doorstep the other Friday. She is home safe and sound! Turns out she is 14-years-old and was in town visiting her doggy cousins while her human was on a business trip. She somehow escaped out of the backyard and walked over a mile before plopping herself down at my front door! She was returned to her human Aunt's home a couple of hours after she left my house with Animal Control. I love happy endings! I had been so worried about her and am so relieved to know she had not been abandoned.
REQUEST: My human K has informed me that it is time for us to move. I did some zoomies of joy because I thought we would be moving to snow! But then K said she is considering moving to Dallas, Texas. Texas?! Malamutes do not belong in Texas! Grrrr.... Anyway, K has never been to Texas and would like to request that if anyone knows anything about Dallas to please let her know. K does not have a car so she would need to find housing near public transportation. She was thinking of the area of White Rock Lake, so she and I could take our walks near water. Any information on Dallas would be great. Or, if you know of better towns to move too - such as places that have lots of snow! or the tropics, for Porgy! - please let us know! We are ready to move and start a new adventure in our lives! And being a wanderer, which Malamutes naturally are, I am open to roaming anywhere, except the desert. A snow dog in the sand? I don't think so. Plus, cacti scare me. I could just see myself at night having to go potty and mistaking a cactus for a shrub. I shudder to think of where the prickly needles would end up! I'm just sayin'...

Suka, that is excellent news about the black lab. I love a happy ending. Now I don't know anything about Texas but my friend Angus Mohr is from there so you could maybe visit his blog and have K email his mum (there's a link on his page) and ask some questions. http://heartfullocats.blogspot.com/

Hi Suka, Miss Fluffy Tail pawed us to come drop by your blog. We live in Fort Worth, neighbors to Dallas...we don't know THAT much but maybe if you have specific questions?
True there isn't snow here, and it gets so hot in August and sometimes September that we stay inside night and day and drive mum nuts, but the rest of the year the weather is nice. Count on summers in the low 90's though...cools down round Octoberish. That means higher electric bills than most people pay, but we also don't have bad winters at all (no blinding blizzards here).
Dallas has its pluses and its minuses--there's lots of culture stuff, and shopping if you like all that...but there are honestly much purtier places to live. Mum says Fort Worth is better but she's partial. It's harder to get around without a car though.
If you have specific questions, zap us a pawmail at cparagraphs@googlemail.com and mum would be happy to help.
Woo!

I'm glad that the lab found it's way back to his aunties. I bet she was very worried.
I don't know anything about Texas but you should come to Minnesota and do zoomies in the snow with me!! Plymouth was voted number one city to live!
Howdy, Suka! Yep, I live in Texas, and although I don't currently live in Dallas, I have more than a passing acquaintance with the city. If you have specific questions I'll be happy to share what info I can. You can email me at:
angus mhor AT g mail DOT com-you know what to do with the spaces and caps!
Hi Suka, I saw your addy on Princess Eva's blog and thought I would stop by and say hello! I am a rescue too, my mom found me in the slammer where I had lived for 3 months. They tooked good care of me, but it was hard for a 2 year old to be so confined.
Today I have been playing with stuffees, romping in the snow and walkin with my Mom. Things is good for me, too.
Kisses,
Stella
