Foggy Doggy 03.02.2011

I have a theory as to who/what has been taking my snow away from me. One night when I went to sleep my wonderful snow was piled high and sitting pretty. But upon waking the next few mornings my snow was less and less. A white, heavy fog had been hanging around each of those mornings. I think the fog is eating my snow while I sleep.

I will guard this patch of snow with my life!

~~ MOMENT OF BEAUTY ~~

Jean Cousin The Elder, Saint Mammes and Duke Alexander, Tapestry, circa 1541

Hagesandros, Athenedoros, and Polydorus, Laocoön and His Sons, white marble, circa 42-20 BC

Back to me...

Have you no fight left in you, Silvius?

*sigh...

Alas, I admit defeat. Mr. Fog is a more formidable opponent than I thought. His appetite for my snow is much too strong. But I have been observing Mr. Fog, I have noticed his tricks, his modus operandi. I will be waiting for you next Winter, Mr. Fog, I will protect my snow, and I will be victorious! Plan 1 - a honeypot trap: introduce Mr. Fog to Miss Mist. I'm don't like confrontation so might as well use love. I'm just sayin'...

You look very mysterious wrapped in that snow-eating fog! And you Plan is brilliant...love conquers anything, my friend! Next year, you will have snow into August!

And don't forget that March comes in like a lion thing...you might be surprised once more yet this year.

The tapestry in amazing; thanks for the continuing art history education.

We have plenty of snow left and more on the way. I'll see what I can do about getting more for you....

Quite a theory. I suspect that you find some snow return before the end of March. At least here in NY it will. Beautiful beautiful photo with the fog in the distance.

Very good of you to figure out who has been stealing your snow! I think you did a good job at trying to hang on to your snow but don't admit defeat just yet! There is sure to be more snow in the next few weeks b/c (unfortunately) winter is not over yet!
Very creative post!

Suka, I think the thing of beauty is the furbaby in the photo right above the caption - you! That is such a mysteriously beautiful shot of you in the fog. I'm sorry the Fog Monster is eating up your snow. We are losing ours fast here too...although in spots we still have some, other spots are becoming a soupy, swampy, icky mess.

The tapestry is quite beautiful indeed.

I hope the Snow Queens sprinkles some more flakes before spring hits for you and the FiveSibes to enjoy one last time for the season!

That fog is really spooky looking. Don't let it get you down. Maybe you'll find a toy hidden in there!

Happy Fat Tuesday, dear friend! Hope the feasting was extreme and the partying including some baying at the moon! Tomorrow we fast (or so the rules go).

Hi Suka, had to end the Lent celebration stuff today when we found out the tradition for Ash Wednesday was to FAST! We thought momma meant zoomies but then she put down our food dish with just a few pieces of kibble. We all said "No way" and demanded our regular chow.

White Dog Blog said...

Tell K she did great fasting! Momma has to bend the rules a bit because of her diabetes but figures that the Universe understands. Thank Dog we DIDN'T have to fast...momma was only kidding (although we did NOT think it was funny)!
